Who is eligible to apply?
Anyone who carries a valid FAA Part 107 license
Do I need my own insurance?
Yes. You will need to ether carry year-round insurance or purchase per flight. Minimum of 1 Million Dollar policy required. Proof of insurance will need to be shown before each and every flight.
Do I need my own equipment?
You do not need to own the equipment you use. Rentals, leases, or loaned equipment is allowed.
How much Do i earn?
You will be paid per job, after the deliverables have been sent. You may earn up to 70% of the total job price which will be listed before you accept the job.
Are there fee minimums?
Yes. A minimum fee of $200 is in place. This means no job will pay the pilot anything less than $140.
How does scheduling work?
In most cases, we work directly with the client for their preferred date and time of flight. You will know the date and time before accepting the job. If there is a scheduling conflict, you do not have to accept the job. Under no circumstances can you accept a job and attempt to reschedule it. if rescheduling is required, Icon Drones will work with the client to determine a new date and time.
Am I guaranteed work?
No. Icon Drones works with pilots as independent contractors. Depending on job load, location, and pilot availability determines when and to whom jobs are offered.
Can I choose which markets to work for?
Absolutely! You can pick and choose which areas you want to be available for. This includes weddings, realty, deer recovery, agriculture, construction sites, photogrammetry, inspections, and general aerial photo/video. Choose one or all. At this time, SOP are only available for weddings, realty, inspections, and general aerial photo/video. Other areas require proof of equipment and experience in the specific market.
